Brighton Speedway mourns the passing of Tim Thompson

Tim ThompsonBrighton Speedway is mourning the recent and sudden death of Pro Stock driver Tim Thompson. Thompson was injured after he fell on a job site last Wednesday, June 25.

Thompson spent the next six days in hospital before eventually succumbing to complications from surgery and his injuries on Tuesday, July 1.

Tim most recently competed in his classic white and green No.33 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Pro Stock on June 21 when he finished seventh. Tim was a weekly fixture at Brighton and was an upbeat, exciting, and fair racer. That only begins to describe his personality as well.

The thoughts and prayers of the entire Rinaldi family and Brighton Speedway staff are with the Thompson family at this time. The Speedway will observe a moment of silence in his honour prior to Saturday night’s event.
