BRIGHTON, Ont. – May 25, 2016 – Brighton Speedway’s 50th season returns to life on Saturday, May 27th for the first Fan Appreciation night of the season presented by Dibbits Excavating and UBC Canada. Fans of all ages will have the opportunity to meet their favourite drivers on the track at intermission for autographs, pictures and lots of goodies. It’s the Brighton Speedway version of Hallowe’en.

“It give the fans and especially the kids a chance to get down on the track, see what the clay is all about and meet their favourite driver!  It is a night that both the fans and drivers look forward to every year!” says track promoter Mark Rinaldi.

All five Brighton Speedway divisions will be in action for the highly popular night of racing. The Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds will compete for 30 laps in the first round of the ABC Taxi Triple Crown. Race time is 7:00pm and adult admission is just $10.

Saturday’s race also marks the first Kids R Cool / Dibbits Excavating Kids Klub event of the season.  In preparation for the June 3rd School bus races all registered Kids Klub members will have the opportunity to ride in one of the racing school busses prior to the event.  Kids can sign up in the courtyard at the beginning of the night.

The action on the racetrack is heating up at the speedway. The Vanderlaan Building Products Pro Late Model division has seen three different winners in the first three events of the 50th anniversary season with Adam Turner, Kyle Sopaz and Charlie Sandercock all picking up one win.

The Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds will be battling extra distance this week for 30 laps.  To date Andrew Hennessy has won two of the three features with Doug O’blenis picking up one feature win in the middle.  However there are many strong contenders looking for their first win of the season that have been knocking on the door including Curtis King, Kraig Handley, Adam Whaley and Shawn Gregory that have all had strong runs as of late.

Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks are coming back from a week off and the field will be looking to knock Justin Ramsay from the top position.  Ramsay has won both feature events to date but the battle remains tight at the front of the field and he will have a starting spot deep in the field for this coming Saturday due to his most recent win.

Adam Flieler’s has yet to win a feature in the Bill’s Johns Comp 4 division but he holds down the top spot in the standings. Flieler will be looking to park his #11 Honda in victory lane joining Mathew Moore, Tyler French and Jeff Humphry’s in victory lane.  Humphry ran a hard fought race on Saturday to earn himself the Campbellford Chrysler Driver of the Week Award!

The Quinte Septic Stingers will be making their 2017 debut this week with expected big field of cars expected in both the JR and SR Stinger divisions.  Rain Cancelled the Stingers Debut on May 6th and the drivers will be ready to rock Saturday to hit the 1/3rd mile dirt oval for the first time in the 50th anniversary season.
