BRIGHTON, Ont. – August 26, 2016 – Brighton Speedway’s Kiwanis of Trenton Kart Klub program was cut short on Thursday night due to rain. A light shower did just enough damage to the karting track to prevent the completion of the program.

The Box Stock 1 drivers were the only ones to complete their feature event. Callie Bristow and Gabe Miller led the field to the green flag for the 10-lap race. Miller grabbed the lead early and pulled away from the rest of the field.

The race slowed for one caution on lap four, but it didn’t bother Miller who continued to pace the field. Gabe’s older brother, Gordie Miller, quickly raced to second amongst a flurry of action on the restart, but couldn’t get close enough to challenge for the lead.

Gabe Miller’s win was a division-leading fifth this season. Coleson Gregory, Chris Lough, Callie Bristow, Colby Ellis finished third through sixth while Ethan Dobb was seventh in his Kart Klub debut.

The Rookie 1 A-Main, the night’s second feature, was postponed with four laps completed. The remainder of the Rookie 1 race as well as the feature events for the other five divisions that were not completed will be made-up next Thursday, September 1 during the season finale.

Those six divisions will also run a complete normal program for a double feature night of racing. The double feature night may start ahead of the regularly scheduled 7:00pm time. Please stay tuned to and Brighton Speedway social media for updated information.
