Mother Nature Spoils Fans Return to the Track

For Immediate Release – Sunday July 4th

For the first time since October 2019 fans were allowed back to the stands at Brighton Speedway with 25% capacity on July 3rd.  The Pinty’s Knights of Thunder 360 Sprint Car Tour and a complete race card was set to take to the track surface only to be washed away by Mother Nature.

Over 700 tickets were sold out in advance online in 4 days as fans could not wait to get back the track to see some dirt racing and they were in their seats ready to go.  That coupled with 98 cars in the pits ready to race and a live broadcast on G-Force TV, the stage was set for an exciting return to racing.

About 10 minutes before the start of hot laps Mother Nature started to sprinkle on the race surface and track crew immediately put equipment on the track to try and keep the track in race condition.  Rain fell for about 45 minutes but the track crew was determined to get the show in.  After more than an hour and a half of trying to get the track worked in and the Sprint Cars starting to get pushed off for putting heat in their motor and the skies opened up again.  Unfortunately, this time it was just too much for the clay surface and the event needed to be called.

All Spectator tickets will be honored on July 24th when the Pinty’s Knights of Thunder return.  The next scheduled event is Saturday, July 10th with a complete race program plus the Gord’s Water Vantastics.    Spectators can go online to www.brightonspeedway.com or https://www.showpass.com/o/brighton-speedway-ltd/ to order tickets.  Tickets for that event are already 50% sold out so we encourage people wishing to attend not to wait and to get their tickets as soon as they can.
